As President of Disney Music Group, Ken Bunt oversees all of The Walt Disney Company's recorded music, music publishing, and live concert operations, including Hollywood Records, Walt Disney Records, Buena Vista Records, Disney Concerts, and Disney Music Publishing. The group's output ranges from motion picture and television soundtracks to recording artists – including Oscar and Grammy-winning Frozen soundtrack, the Oscar-nominated Moana soundtrack, Grammy-nominated recordings for Star Wars, Zootopia, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1, the Aladdin original Broadway cast record, as well as the chart-topping Beauty And the Beast soundtrack, Bea Miller, Joywave, Demi Lovato, Queen, R5, ZZ Ward, Ocean Park Standoff, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Holt, Breaking Benjamin, Tini Stoessel, Jorge Blanco, and more.
Bunt was previously Executive Vice President of DMG, after serving as Senior Vice President of Marketing for Hollywood Records. He joined Disney Music Group in 1998 as head of the digital marketing department, utilizing new technology to connect artists with their fans and create awareness and buzz. He built DMG's digital sales department and drove the group's presence in the digital marketing space by establishing early partnerships with YouTube, Facebook, iTunes and VEVO. Prior to joining Disney, Bunt worked at Def American Records with music icons including Johnny Cash, The Black Crowes, and The Jayhawks.
Bunt was named one of Details magazine's 2009 Mavericks for recognizing "a wave of reinvention washing over the media, politics and entertainment" and "breaking the rules and doing the impossible" to turn that around.
A Southern California native, Bunt earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Chapman University, where he served as the general manager of the university's radio station.
