39th Annual Annie Awards Disney Nominations

Awards season is almost here! The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, announced nominations for its 39th Annual Annie Awards recognizing the year's best animated features, television productions, commercials, short subjects and outstanding individual achievements in the field of animation. Disney projects received a combined total of 37 nominations.

Walt Disney Animation Studios' "Prep and Landing: Naughty vs. Nice" received 10 nominations, including Best Animated Television Production and individual nominations for character animation, character design, directing, music, storyboarding and writing, while "Winnie The Pooh" received eight nominations, including Animated Effects in an Animated Production and individual nominations in a feature production for character animation, directing, music, production design, storyboarding and writing. "The Ballad of Nessie" received one nomination for Best Animated Short Subject.

Pixar Animation Studios received a total of eight nominations including Best Animated Feature "Cars 2" and Best Animated Short Subject "La Luna."

Touchstone's "Gnomeo & Juliet" received four individual nominations including directing, storyboarding, voice acting and writing.

DisneyToon Studios' "Pixie Hollow Games" received one nomination for Music in a Television Production and Disney Television Animation received a total of five nominations for the following productions, "Disney Kick Buttowski," "Disney Jake and the Never Land Pirates" and "Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse."
